And those who bow today their knee
Will reign with Him forever free
From wicked hosts that roam this sod
Who dare now think that they are God.

I sought a world where I was king
Where others bowed and did my thing
I found a world I couldn’t stand
Which wouldn’t go as I had planned

Only those who’ve known despair, appreciate when help is there
Only those once without God, appreciate His staff and rod

Remember, and walk softly, lest you so tempted fall
Without the help of Jesus, you differ not at all.

Let no man’s blood, you didn’t warn, your fearfulness declare
May they not say, you didn’t speak, so how could they prepare?

There is a right time for each purpose
A season to gain and to lose
But we confuse one with the other
When in our own wisdom we choose

Tend to this heart, which needs your touch, above all other need
And when You’re done, with strength I’ll run, to You alone retreat.

Lord, You are my comfort
When trouble fills my soul
I dare not take the next step
Unless Your hand I hold.

Lord, help us more to trust You, depend upon your cues
Keep us from presumption, where roles become confused

The world is filled with false christs
Who want you to draw near
Hands they’ll lay upon you
And join you in your tears

And should our soul be absent
From what bright morning brings
If God is our tomorrow
We will not miss a thing

I will not demand that a God who is good
Answers my prayers as I think that He should.

I asked what was the answer
Where would my longing cease?
He told me there was one place
Where I could find real peace.

As faithful and strong as I found Him
In every dark room of the past
I know He will be in the future
With Him I can face every blast.

But to you may there be one God, the Potter to your clay
May He alone shape all you are and have the final say.

If what I fear should come to pass and break my heart in two
The Lord I love will have my trust and walk me even through

Faithful You have always been
You’ve never failed me yet
Needs before I’ve brought to You
Have never been unmet.

Walk away from home you’ve known to arms that will hold tight
Like spider webs round precious prey who’ve lost the will to fight.

Tell me what’s important
When death beats at your door
The things your life was spent on
Were they worth living for?

A sweet reward is held in store for those who labored on
With nothing else to buoy them up, but eye toward yonder dawn

The light of Day has broken, the Night is surely past
It’s time to turn the corner, be done with sin at last.

No matter what my eyes behold
Or what my ears may hear
I cannot leave this place of prayer
For one I hold so dear.

Beware the silent treatment, from those both near and far
Such often speaks so plainly – between you there are bars

One thing above all others, will give you what you need
For life’s surprising journey, where nothing’s guaranteed.

It’s not enough to suffer, for all have tales to tell
But very few with patience, have learned to suffer well.

And when my life seems to stand still
I’ll look to Christ my heart to fill.

I may be invisible to every eye of man
But I am not invisible to God, the great “I AM”

Give me Jesus when I’m done
For when I’m empty, You will come.

With far off land, adventures sweet
My humble home cannot compete
The die is cast, into the night
I say farewell, but strike a light

Remember in all of your sowing
The Spirit holds marvelous keys
To open the heart unto Jesus
Not law, neither method or creed

Behind you not before you, is devil’s perfect place
Pass up his every offer, still standing in God’s grace

If God would give us His full portion
His secrets to us would reveal
Behind us we must put the tempter
To the beauty of God only kneel

What have I done with the gift I’ve been given?
What have I made of the life I’ve been living?

Man’s freedom is his bondage
His pleasure brings him pain
His light becomes his darkness
His glory is his shame

Be with Me dear child, even share My heartache
Though poor in all else, be rich in your faith

At every turn where you would meet a challenge to your faith
If you’ll not wield both sword and shield you’ll find a sorry fate

The sky above is shining, below a world embarks
But I sit stunned and silent, for my world just went dark

Hope in the Son who is the Lord in days both good and bad
Know Him as one who takes you in when life would drive you mad

All humans have one issue, no matter what their past
When little god they worship, the highest praise fades fast

God was your friend, you told Him so
And now He left? or did you go?

Care only for one memory
Let nothing it erase
The sight above all others
The glory of God’s face

Before you end your journey, let go of every lie
Best now to be embarassed, than when you stand on high

Be blessed with your promotion
Give thanks for all God’s gifts
But glory in your weakness
For through it heaven lifts

Rather than spinning and going nowhere
He laid a straight path to a place that was fair

For nothing in the world God’s made, gifts meant to give us cheer
Are worth the loss of God Himself, when they become more dear

This life and all its promise, we cling to with each breath
Do we not trust our Savior, there’s more beyond our death?

A change can happen soon enough
But now, through Christ, be godly tough

His pleasure, not yours, is the reason you’re made
Your glory though great will in time surely fade

Turn your cheek, bear your cross, if one day you will see
Like Him, best of friends come from worst enemies

He’ll give you eyes to see Him; He’ll give you ears to hear
If you will just obey Him and hold His scripture dear.

Lord, I love You
What more can I say?
You have shown me Your goodness
In so many ways

The years have past, and come at last
We reap just what we sow
Mercy’s reward is only toward
The heart which let it go

What does it profit any man
To gain this world beneath
When he should lose his precious soul
And find eternal grief?

But for You, my Lord my God, what awful sights I’d see
I wouldn’t want to know myself, a different man I’d be

I took so much for granted, the freedom that I had
Convinced what I was doing was really not so bad

It’s God you must be after, in Him you are complete
So set your compass northward, and stay right at His feet

So look upon this world of change, where nothing stays the same
And in each day rejoice in Him, who always will remain

If you’d be kept from evil, your eyes must never feed
On “food” that is not kosher, on fare which isn’t good

Do you hate the devil? You don’t if you love sin
You make him beam with pleasure, each time that you give in

Without Your love where would I be? You should have let me go
But now I’m home content at last to be within your fold

Be not amazed that you would be
The target of God’s enemy

When table spread by devils, has won the appetite
Without a Savior’s rescue, from God men take their flight

Oh please come to your senses, wherever you may be
Come home, come home! I’m waiting, your form far off to see.

What is it, Lord, that I should seek, and set my heart upon?
The pleasures in this world are found and then are quickly gone

For Him to be mighty
Then we must be weak
Should He be our wisdom
Then we must be meek

“Son, your destination
Is fine, but better still
Is where I want to take you
If you will love My will.”

He knows just what I need to hear
His timing’s always right
I cannot frighten Him away
No matter what my plight

Father is our Potter, His Son is now the mold
Through fire we grow like Him becoming precious gold

Can we see another’s pain and silent sit awhile?
Or must they “Get over it!” as we demand a smile?

I’ve seen enough to lose my trust in everyone but God
Until He came, I could not claim, a refuge on this sod

The world He made is awesome
The light indeed is sweet
But nothing will refresh you
Like living at His feet

To look nowhere but to Him
And to His arms be led
He tells me He’s my Papa
And I am His dear child

Jesus bore rejection
From man and from His God
So we could find acceptance
Above this earthly sod

I will call You my best friend, I will not let You go
There’s no goodbyes to say to You, I’ll only say, “Hello!”

Let men of time be satisfied, with all down here they get
Eternal good is what I seek, pleasure without regret

This is your holy privilege, this is your holy right
To walk on highest places and never lose a fight

The past is now behind me, the future is not mine
I only have the present, will I redeem the time?

Lord take my hand and guide my feet
Into things now unknown
I will not fear if You are near
And your right way is shown

His mercies are renewed each day
His promises don’t fail
In awe I stand of His great love
To which all others pale

God does not believe in you
To greatness you’re not called
Unless in Christ you will abide
Expect to only fall

But high above the atmosphere that touches us below
Our God resides with eyes of love that rest on each sparrow

Keep me, my Lord Jesus, make me by Your grace
The man You’ve always wanted, who finishes his race.

Jesus, only Jesus, from first to last must be
The one your eyes are fixed on, to God your only key

Follow Me – into glory above
Follow Me – into nothing but love

The Way is one, the Truth has come, the Life is in the Son
From those who make another way, be sure to quickly run

“An enemy you’ve made Me; a foe you think I am
But if I was against you, by now you would be damned
It’s not because I hate you that I won’t let you be
It is because I love you, I want your eyes to see.”

But through this quest to be wanted
Desired and loved by someone
I suddenly saw He was looking
And calling me gently to come

This world and all its lusts
Will one day soon be past
But those who do God’s will
Alone will win at last

This alone is why I sing and why I can’t be sad
Above I have a Friend indeed, His smile has made me glad

Rejoice that He’s your portion
Rejoice though rich or poor
Rejoice that He is with you
Rejoice forevermore

The more this world will hate my Lord, the more I will adore Him
The more they mock His holy Name, the more I will live for Him

Take care for more than pleasant things which one day will be gone
Take hold of Him and He will bring an everlasting dawn

A time has been made for each purpose
A season when things should be done
Make sure that in all God is leading
Or you’ll miss the beat for each one.

May I not from You turn back
To face this life alone
I dare not walk a single step
If You remain unknown

Should I care what people say, and want to win their praise?
Or should I live to please myself, for no one change my ways?
There is just one, it is not me, for whom I ought to live

Little choices, big results, more than we first can see
A seed is sown, a habit grown, imperceptibly

God wrote a book that few have read
It sits on shelves unopened
Within it are ten thousand keys
For deepest woes unspoken

How much of what I cannot see
I simply must let go
If blind I am, then I shall say:
“But God alone You know”

Be still and know that I am God
I rule above, below
And if with Me you’ll always be
You’ll let Me run the show

Speak to me, on You I wait
This is my one great MUST

Let go of goods that are not best
For better jewel above the rest

This only is my heart’s cry, this only is my plea
That I would cross the finish, when Christ is formed in me

For thorns imbedded in our flesh reveal our deepest need
To have much more of Jesus Christ, to know His grace indeed

Lord, every urge to look, to hear, to speak a foolish word
Needs consent within the heart or flies off like a bird

If from man you hope to find what only God can give
In sorrow you will spend your days and never truly live

There is one thing that I must do and only call success
To every day close by you stay and in your presence rest

The good He has wrought in me
However much sublime
Is not for any other
For God alone I shine.
