Poem

Better Place

Michael Beck

What are we afraid of, when life will never end?
We grieve to see life over, when more there was to spend
This life and all its promise, we cling to with each breath
Do we not trust our Savior, there’s more beyond our death?
He told us He would not lie, there mansions do await
And He has gone before us, to open heaven’s gate
Inside will be such glory, such beauty, and such good
Not one who’s ever gone there, would come back if they could
Mourn not for those who’ve left you, if they were heaven bound
Though they lived here a short while, they now have truly found
A company of angels, a fellowship so sweet
The saints from all the ages, who they are thrilled to meet
But most of all they cherish, in that most holy place
To be with their dear Savior, and always see His face
