Waiting for the Dawn

Michael Beck

We look into the future and hope for many things,
A car, a home, a job, a beau, a fancy wedding ring
We ask when will that day arrive we’ve wanted for so long
When we will dance in morning light and sing a joyful song
We hope and pray and live each day for something yet to come
The good we want, the bad we fear, our fingers remain crossed
But what is all the world to us if every dream come true
And in the end a night descends and our own soul is lost?
Take care for more than pleasant things which one day will be gone
Take hold of Him and He will bring an everlasting dawn
