There are so many things to do, I must be on my way
The day is short, the night comes fast, I cannot stand delay
The light turns red and I must stop, but how my heart does race
I’m driven by an unseen need toward something that I chase
But when I reach each separate goal I still can’t find full rest
The deed is done, the battle won, but lo! there’s emptiness

What is it, Lord, that I should seek, and set my heart upon?
The pleasures of this world are found and then are quickly gone
“My son, don’t run, toward this or that, but make your way toward Me
The world I’ve made and all you crave is not your destiny
You’ll find no rest or blessedness until I am your goal
Forsake your way, begin today, find peace inside your soul”

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in me and all this earth
Where kingdoms come and wills are done but have no lasting worth
What does it profit any man to always reach his mark
If when he stands before your throne you cast him to the dark
There is one thing that I must do and only call success
To every day close by you stay and in your presence rest
