Poem

He Sees Me

Michael Beck

I may be invisible to every eye of man
But I am not invisible to God, the great “I AM”
He is my blessed Maker, who’s watched me from the womb
The Shepherd who left ninety nine to rescue me from doom
Though in a teeming city, or sitting all alone
His eye is ever on me, to Him I’m always known
When people are too busy or just don’t seem to care
He never will forsake me, He always will be there
Though last and least and lowest on any earthly pole
My name has been recorded on heaven’s highest roll
And when I am forgotten by those I once held dear
My God will think upon me and stay so very near
In valley dark and dreadful I will not lonely walk
My Guide will be beside me and watch me like a hawk
And when my eyes at last will close they’ll open once again
To meet the eyes that matter most, those of my dearest Friend
