Poem

My One Great Must

Michael Beck

I think I know what I should do
But is it really true?
Although I claim to know the Lord
How much did I pray through?
Instead of God, I trust my gut
And let it lead the way
Emotions, fears grow through the night
To rise and rule the day
Lord, calm my heart, and cool my haste
I want my eyes to see
Uncolored by the way I feel
The things You want to be
Make me Lord a man of prayer
First instincts I won’t trust
Speak to me, on You I wait
This is my one great MUST
