Poem

Transition

Michael Beck

Can’t go back, but what’s ahead?
The way is not so clear
The things I knew have faded fast
So much I once held dear
Between two worlds I seem to hang
With eyes that look ahead
The old is gone, but I’m not sure
What I will find instead
Lord take my hand and guide my feet
Into things now unknown
I will not fear if You are near
And your right way is shown
Like Abraham, I will go forth
Not knowing where You lead
Into a land that You’ve ordained
To firmly plant my feet

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” (Hebrews 11:8)

“And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.” (Isaiah 42:16)
