“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” (Psalm 37:23)
One of our greatest problems is telling God what we can and cannot handle. There are certain waters we refuse to walk on, only because we are looking to ourselves and not to Jesus.
We limit God when we tell Him what He can and cannot use for His glory; when we take matters into our own hands and refuse what appears evil in our sight; when we engineer our lives according to our hopes and fears without submitting ourselves to His Lordship.
We open ourselves to a walk of faith when we entrust our lives into the hands of a wise and good God, who knows far better than we do how to order our steps and glorify His Name.
The Lord is our shepherd. He knows where He wants to take us and it is to a good place. When we simply obey Him, He will marvelously strengthen us to do what we didn’t think we could do. Don’t dictate your will to God. Hear His voice. Walk behind Him. Don’t expect Him to follow you.
