“For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth.” (Hebrews 12:6)
While we raise our children, God raises us. In the hotbed of home-life our own immaturity is unearthed. We see a need to discipline our kids; God knows we need the same. Too often, we recognize in a child our own besetting sin – and God gently tells us that the beam will have to be removed from our own eye if we are going to really help our little one.
Parent: don’t panic that you’re in over your head. The aim of becoming a parent was never to prove to the world how capable you were. God is using it to reveal your weakness, and to perfect His strength in your life. You are His beloved kid. He wants you to grow up right. You are in just the right place to beautifully mature.
