“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” (Psalm 90:17)
The only beauty that lasts is God’s beauty. Our appearance changes. Our goodness is as a morning cloud. What we pride ourselves in doing today, we fail to do tomorrow.
God’s goodness endures continually. His beauty is not as the flower of the field. His righteousness endures forever.
To eternally shine forth as the sun we will need a greater beauty upon us than what is naturally ours. No matter how breathtaking nature may be at any given moment, it will fade. Only what God creates in us by His grace is everlastingly beautiful.
Reach for grace. Reach for unfading beauty.
