“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God …” (2 Corinthians 5:17,18)
What does it mean to be a new creation in Christ? All things that are created OF God are the product of His will and good pleasure. To be in Christ is to be God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works (Eph. 2:10). Our old man was corrupt because it was our own creation, crafted according to our own will and design.
When we are born again, we put off the old creation. All things become new because now we are reconciled to God and ready for Him to work in us to will and do according to His good pleasure. We no longer live for ourselves, but for Him who died and rose for us. The first question of a saved man is, “Lord, what would you have me to do?”
Lucifer is the original “do-it-yourselfer.” He is the first self-creation. His identity is that of a rebel, a non-conformist, one who doesn’t want to fit into a mold anyone else would make for him, including God. His anthem is: “I’ve Got to Be Me.” His spirit is anti-Christ because Jesus declared: “I do nothing OF myself.” Jesus was not a self-made man; He was a God-made man.
Whose image will you wear: Satan’s or Christ’s? Whose spirit will you walk in? To be in Christ is to be in a place where all things are OF God. Do you claim to be a Christian? Then it is time to walk as He walked.
“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light” (Eph. 5:8).
