The God Who Cares

Michael Beck

“And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?” (Psalm 73:11)

The blind believe that God either does not exist or does not care. Those who know God know He is intimately involved and affected by all that happens on the earth. There is not a sparrow that falls to the earth without His knowing it. He counts every hair upon our head. He watches over our every step. In all our affliction, He is afflicted. (Isa. 63:9) The thoughts that He thinks toward us are more than the sands of the sea. (Ps. 139:17,18)

A wicked person ultimately doesn’t want God’s eyes upon him. He wants distance from a God who sees and knows him. So he chalks up the suffering in this world to an absentee Father. But oh! if he only knew.

The Bible is God’s self-declaration of His intimate interaction with the world He has made. Do yourself a favor – read it – and find out how passionate God is about every living thing. Beware of receiving a slander against our awesomely involved Father!
