“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given …” (Isaiah 9:6)
God didn’t ask us what we wanted; He gave us what we needed.
Jesus is God’s gift to us. At first He didn’t seem like a very expensive gift, or a gift that would be that useful or needed. In fact, He pretty much lay on the shelf for thirty years. But in the end, He proved to be the best, most valuable, absolutely necessary gift anyone ever gave to another. And although He has already been given, He has not yet been received by the majority of those who so desperately need Him. He remains a gift despised and rejected of men, but precious to the One who gave and to those who have received.
Let every heart prepare Him room!
