Supernatural Thoughts and Ways

Michael Beck

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 55:8)

God’s thoughts and ways don’t come naturally to us. They are not the default position of our heart and mind. They must be sought out. But who seeks for something he has no desire to possess? “Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?” (Prov. 17:16) “The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.” (Ps. 111:2)

Those who are born again live in the Spirit. But those who live in the Spirit are admonished to walk in the Spirit. (Gal. 5:25) Every right thought we think is a supernatural miracle – wisdom coming to us from above. Failing to find God’s thoughts on any matter leaves us “minding the flesh.” To mind the Spirit is life and peace; to mind the flesh is death. (Rom. 8:5,6)

Do we trust our own heart to rightly guide us? “He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” (Prov. 28:26) God has not saved us to continue to walk as we once walked. A godly walk begins with a godly attitude. If we are to walk in God’s ways, we must have God’s thoughts. Let us be renewed in the spirit of our mind. Let us walk in the supernatural mind of Christ.
