Radical Change

Michael Beck

“No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” (1 John 4:12)

The expulsion of the devil’s influence over the heart and mind, and the entrance of God has profound and instantaneous effects. Never underestimate the power of God to change a person, to turn them into someone completely other than the person they’ve been. When God comes, and Satan flees, there is a world of difference in a life – one’s attitude, one’s perspective is radically changed. The course of their life has done a u-turn and they are now positioned to become like God Himself in all their ways.

Transformation has a definite starting date; it begins when the devil has been evicted and the Lord has come to dwell within us. The devil has eyes to give us through which we hate, and a mouth through which we curse; but God has eyes to give us through which we love, and a mouth through which we bless. Don’t expect the world around you to change when God takes up residence in your heart; but expect that you will see it differently. The evidence of God in us is that we love, even our enemies; and we bless, even those who curse us. And this glorious love that is now at work in us, only grows more and more perfect with each passing day.
