Preaching Ourselves

Michael Beck

“For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Corinthians 4:5)

Those who preach any form of “believe in yourself” are not preaching the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. This message is antichrist. It is filled with the pride of life which is not of the Father.

Don’t be deceived by those who speak of “finding their own voice,” “becoming their own person,” “breaking free of their shackles,” etc. Their liberation is Luciferian. No matter how much they appear to be more “whole,” more “free;” no matter how much they seem to have “come out of their shell,” do not encourage them in this new path. Don’t let any remaining talk they have of God or Jesus or the Holy Spirit deceive you. The only god they are on the way to worshipping is their own self.

Preaching ourselves takes the form of what I did to achieve success, or become the person I am. Those who preach the “gospel of ME” love to “inspire” others with their success story. They wish to draw disciples after themselves. They enjoy being a mini-celebrity who has people hanging on their words and looking to them for advice.

There are many who have stopped preaching Christ in order to preach themselves. They seek glory of men. This is deadly serious. Eternal souls hang in the balance. If you have a friend who has started down this path, don’t applaud their “success.” Warn them that they are on the road to apostasy. They may cut you off and count you their enemy, but if they perish, their blood will not be on your hands.
