“And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly … “He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.” (John 13:27,30)
How long was Judas entertaining thoughts that should have been cast down? A little leaven entered at some point and grew over time. Jesus saw His disciple slipping away. He knew it was only a matter of time before full on betrayal would come.
When there is no resistance in our life to evil imaginations, the writing is on the wall. Satan tempts us with our own desires, but if there is not submission to God and valiant resistance, he will not flee. An unsurrendered heart, willing to play with fire, is eventually burned.
God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. Walk in the light as He is in the light and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, lest a “nightfall” is in your future.
