“… And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.” (Isaiah 7:2)
Like the weather, our feelings and opinions can change from one day to the next. What we thought or felt so strongly at a given time can suddenly no longer be part of the picture. The heart that was so troubled is now at rest; the mind that was so disturbed now has peace. The wind loudly howls; it violently shakes the trees and rattles the windows; and then it is “no more.” “As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more …” (Prov. 10:25)
Be careful not to get caught up in another’s whirlwind. Be careful of the strong winds that begin to blow in your own spirit. The only wind that should move us is the wind of God’s Spirit.
