Loving the Unlovely

Michael Beck

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” (1 John 3:7,8)

Talking about love is easy; walking in love is a daily challenge. Loving those who love us is a piece of cake. Loving those who don’t love us, those who despise, reject, or hate us without a cause, is another thing all together. But that is what we are called to.

Man easily justifies his anger and hatred. But we cannot be right with God unless we love each other with the same love He has loved us with. He demonstrated His love for us in that while we were yet sinners and His enemies, He died for us.

Make it the chief business of your life to love others with the very love of God. In doing so you will show that you are of God, and that you love and know Him.
