“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20)

There is power unlike any other in the gospel message. Those who believe God’s report are grafted into the Vine that contains abundant life. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No person can have the blessing of God upon their life until they are in Him and He is in them.

It is one thing to tell those outside of the Vine what kind of life would be available to them were they in Christ; it is another to give them hope of partaking of these promises while they are not yet grafted in.

Paul was clear when it came to the state of the spiritually uncircumcised:

“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:12,13)

Woe unto those who think they are being kind to sinners by offering them the comfort that only belongs to the saints. Such is false comfort and false peace. Be truly kind – beseech them, as ambassadors of Christ, to be reconciled to God. Preach repentance first. When they have heeded that word, give them the house.
