Groomed for Destruction

Michael Beck

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” (Jeremiah 17:5)

God is more for man than man will ever be. When man decides he will be man’s champion and friend, he does men far more harm than good. Satan is the god of this world. He pretends to be man’s advocate. Jesus said he savors the things of men, and not of God. In doing so, he calls men away from obedience to God. He paints God as an oppressor who ought to be defied and dismissed. When man decides he will be for man, he chooses to take God’s place. He declares himself as the world’s savior. He will have no God beside him.

Don’t be deceived: the so-called lover of humanity, who despises man’s Creator, is man’s greatest enemy. He sets himself up as a benefactor, but delivers nothing but evil and woe to those who believe his lies. So it is, that one will arise, speaking great blasphemies against the God of heaven, claiming to be man’s champion and deliverer. But all who follow him will share his eternal ruin.

There is one God, one Savior, one Lord. If He be for us, who can be against us. But if He be against us, who can be for us? The rulers and architects of a “brave new world” rage against the Lord and His Christ. They would displace God from the throne and replace him with Man. The Lord laughs. He sees the day coming when every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord.

Don’t fall for man’s sweet sounding line. Kiss the Son today, lest you perish tomorrow. Serve the God who truly loves you and would rescue you from the rampant seductions of this wicked day. Don’t let the man-glorifying spirit of antichrist grip and ensnare you. Don’t be groomed for destruction.
