“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:27,28)
Should sheep that follow their shepherd fear what any man can do to them? Men may cast out your name as evil because you disagree with them. They may call fire down from heaven upon you. They may warn others to stay away from you. They may question your salvation and fear for your soul. But the Lord knows those who are His.
The only thing that matters is that you are recognized by the Shepherd as one of His sheep. If you are His, you will heed His voice in your life. You will not concern yourself with agreeing with men. You may have to disagree with them to stay true to God. Your one desire will be to hear and obey the voice of your Lord. You will love His holiness and you will love His Word. You will want His friendship above all else. It will not matter what people think of you as long as you have His smile on your life.
Many follow a crowd. They are afraid to walk alone with God. They need the support of men. But those who fear the Lord will never lack for security and confidence and courage. God Himself will be your stay and comfort when you have launched out on Him and dared to believe that He Himself can lead you into all truth. If God be for you, who can be against you?
