Dedicated to Obedience

Michael Beck

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

As long as submission to God is not a good idea we are not fit for the kingdom to come. Hell is populated by rebels, those who did it their way. But in heaven, men and angels gladly do the bidding of their Creator. Jesus came into the world to establish the kingdom of heaven in the hearts of men. He came to put an end to the natural rebellion that existed since the fall of Adam.

When the Holy Spirit is at work in a person’s life He not only calls him to Christ, but He calls him to repentance. Repentance is nothing other than surrender to God. It begins an eternity of submission to the King of the Universe. Now, our testimony is the testimony of the Son: “Not my will, but Thine, be done.”

The kingdom of God is coming to this earth. All who will remain upon it in the ages to come will be gladly obedient to their King. Today though, the kingdom has already come. To those who call upon Him for salvation, Christ makes complete submission possible now. Our salvation is not merely a ticket to heaven; it is our entrance into the kingdom of God. All those who are part of the kingdom are convinced that submission to the King is the greatest idea. They are dedicated to obedience for time and eternity.
