Be All Ears

Michael Beck

“… And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.” (Daniel 10:19)

Many know they need help from God, but don’t know how to get it. We get God’s help to the degree we hear from Him. We cry to Him, and He answers us. When He speaks to us, we are strengthened in our soul.

“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.” (Psalm 138:2,3)

David goes on to describe the effect of hearing God’s words:

“All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth. Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.” (Psalm 138:4,5)

Oh what joy to have heard from God! We need to hear from God more than we need anything else. One word from Him calms the storm. His word is that lamp to our feet that shows us how we should walk in a given situation. Gaining wisdom from above is the difference maker in our life. It is a matter of life and death importance.

We live by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Our spiritual strength is dependent on our hearing from God. His still, small voice is our greatest weapon against weariness. When we are worn down and heavy with one concern or another, our strength is found in hearing from God. “My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.” (Psalm 119:28)

Would you get God’s help? Get His Word. Manna is still falling from heaven. Be all ears on a daily basis. God knows what you need before you ask; and what you need, more than anything else, is to find and eat the words which will bring you life and help and strength.
