An Expectant Eye

Michael Beck

“Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.” (Psalm 33:18,19)

To gain God’s attention in a special way, we must have an eye that steadfastly looks to Him. He will not stop looking toward us when we will not stop looking toward Him.

Our eyes cannot fail looking upward. The wait may be long, but God cannot fail us. He may not show up as we expected, but He will show up, and our sorrow shall turn to joy. “Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.” (Ps. 33:20,21)

Every good father wants his children to expect good from his hand. When they have a need he doesn’t want them going to any other but him. His glory is being their protector and provider. He loves being their hero.

God Father is no different. Look to Him and nowhere else. Expect that He is going to come through for you. Know He is crafting a response that will both meet your need, and glorify His Name. Never lose an expectant eye; it shall be rewarded!

“Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.” (Psalm 33:22)
