Alone, Never Again

Michael Beck

“… For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5)

God recognized that it was not good for Adam to be alone. To remedy this, God created Eve. They lived together for hundreds of years, but death would separate them, and once again there would be the pain of aloneness.

We are born into a family that we live with in our early days. But we grow up and those people are no longer with us to the same extent. We may then gain our own family of spouse and children who we live with for many years. But they too will eventually leave us.

The presence of anyone, no matter how near or dear to us, is only temporary. People come, and people go. God is the only Person who can always be with us. But in order for that to happen, we must be reconciled to God, through the one Mediator, the Way to the Father, Jesus Christ. In being saved we come to God and He comes into us to be our constant companion and faithful friend for time and eternity.

The great tragedy of the lost is that they will be alone forever. Today, God stands ready to save each one of us. He has made provision in Christ for you to be forgiven, cleansed and prepared for His entrance into your life. Why bemoan the lack or loss of any other when God Himself is willing to enter and stay with you for the rest of your life and for all eternity?

It is not good to be alone. Find one greater than Eve. Be alone, never again.
