How good is God to give to us a garden of delight
Where trees abound with every fruit so pleasant to our sight
Make no mistake, the God above, is not against our joy
In things below He has prepared a life where we employ
Our hearts and minds, our hands and feet in much that makes us glad
From thousand trees go freely eat, God says they are not bad
But know for sure that anything that even God has made
Can be a thing that takes His place and causes Him to fade
Therefore at times He sends a test and has us make a choice
That proves our heart and shows to Him in what we most rejoice
For nothing in the world God’s made, gifts meant to give us cheer
Are worth the loss of God Himself, when they become more dear
