Poem

That I Might Praise You

Michael Beck

Have mercy O Lord, and hear my cry
Look down from heaven’s height
Behold the need for which I groan
And answer by Thy might

No human hand however strong
Can work just like You do
Prove once again that you are God
And wonderfully come through

I’ll wait despite the tears that flow
I run to You in pain
I’ll let You still my aching heart
I trust in Your great Name

Faithful You have always been
You’ve never failed me yet
Needs before I’ve brought to You
Have never been unmet

And now O Lord, I come again
Because I’ve found You true
Delight my soul that I might give
The praises You are due
