Poem

Come and Dine

Michael Beck

God wrote a book that few have read
It sits on shelves unopened
Within it are ten thousand keys
For deepest woes unspoken
But men ignore what God provides
And seek their answers elsewhere
In darkness grope, while light could shine
Until their lives are broken

‘Tis then perhaps they give an ear
Discover what was hidden
Pull up a chair and come inside
Unto the feast they’re bidden
And then amazed they eat away
And long to know the Author
Who spreads a table every day
Through each good word He’s written
