“… For I have not found thy works perfect before God.” (Revelation 3:2)
Do not exalt personalities above truth. Do not believe what someone says because you like them. The best of men can be in error. The word of God is infallible, men aren’t. They can speak so much truth that you miss the error that is subtly mixed in. Men can take you from the Lord’s hand unless you heed the voice of your one Shepherd.
Where any under-shepherd departs from the Way, the Truth, and the Life, we must depart from him. Men want our “Amen,” but we must honor the truth of God’s Word more than any minister, no matter how wonderful they are in our eyes. God’s truth is perfect, men’s handling of it is not.
