“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18)
New believers are anxious to grow. What is the best way? Should I go to Bible school? What are the best books to read and theologians to sit under?
God has laid out for us the path to maturity. It is not through the head. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments …” (Psalm 111:10) Obedience is the sure precursor to revelation. “The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” (Psalm 25:14)
The loyal, loving servant of God never needs to fear that they will not grow. They have no need to strain. Sound wisdom is laid up for the just, and in perfect time all will be unveiled.
Don’t worry about growing. Just stay planted in obedience.
“The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.” (Job 17:9)
