The Kneeling Heart

Michael Beck

“Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” (Proverbs 8:34-36)

There are some days when we have to hit the ground running. We are plunged immediately into tumult. No time for our morning devotional with a leisurely cup of coffee.

Our gaining of wisdom is not exclusively dependent on having a set time to seek God. We are to seek God and His wisdom at all times.

“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” (1 Chron. 16:11)

In the midst of the storm that is suddenly and ferociously upon us we must cry out for God’s help. He would strengthen our spirit to stay on course and not suffer shipwreck. At our own peril we go without His wisdom. We must get to God’s door daily and knock until we receive the wisdom required for the challenges before us. Be quick to hear what God’s still, small voice would say to you.

When you can’t kneel before God on your knees; kneel with your heart.
