“Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them!” (Hosea 7:13)
You can’t repent and make a full u-turn until you get honest and admit you’re running from God. Multitudes of unconverted sinners think they’re okay because they have some form of belief or some “good actions” they substitute for true obedience. Faith in God, in Jesus, in the Bible can’t save you. Going to church, talking about God, being a good person can’t save you.
“… Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)
Jesus said it: without real repentance, you will perish. Repentance means surrender. If you’re not surrendered, stop kidding yourself. Get real. Admit it – you’re “on the lam;” you’re a fugitive; you’re running away from a God you really don’t want to hand control over to. You want to call the shots. You want to run the show. You don’t want God spoiling your fun. It’s not religion you’re afraid of – it’s God.
Stop running and surrender; not to a religion, not to a church, not to a man, but to God.
