“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.” (Isaiah 64:4)
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
Waiting for another is loving them. Love is patient. It was God’s love for us that made Him willing to wait for us to return from the far country. To easily give up on someone, to throw in the towel, because it is hard to wait, does not indicate a heart of real love.
Likewise, when the Lord appears to be “taking His time” in response to our prayers and hearts’ desires, we also need to demonstrate our faithful love toward Him. Waiting on the Lord is loving the Lord.
