“Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” (Proverbs 4:25-27)
Our direction is determined by our goals. When God is our chief goal, He is glad to give us other goals to reach for. Godspeed is the “speed limit” He would have us travel at in getting to our “destinations.” Sometimes, He is fine with us sailing along. At other times, in His wisdom and for our perfecting, He will slow things up. But if we allow ourselves to be distracted by what’s to our left or right, we will be slower than we should be in reaching any goal.
Keep your focus first and always on your chief goal. Let God be your daily delight. He, and nothing else, is the “be all and end all” of your existence. Arrive at HIM every day. If you do, He will keep you on track and on time in reaching all else He has for you.
