Keep Coming

Michael Beck

“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” (1 Chronicles 16:11)

All true healing comes from God. Firstly, there is no remedy outside of being in Christ. A life in God must be established and that only takes place when we are born again. The world wants healing but does not want Christ. The sickness of the “daughter of Egypt” remains. “… In vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.” (Jeremiah 46:11)

Once we are in Christ we must abide in Him, living in daily dependence upon Him. A life of rest begins with our coming to Christ; but it does not end there – the business of our life is to now learn of our blessed Lord. It is not enough that we believe in Him, we must believe upon Him. He is the daily bread we live by. As we wait on Him, He renews our strength. If our eyes are not ever toward the Author and Finisher of our faith, we will become weary and faint in our minds. We will surely go under except Jesus is upholding and sustaining us. All this calls for a close walk and communion with Him. We cannot afford to be without His involvement in our lives. Our heart must be good ground that continually receives the seed of His word, which instructs, comforts, corrects and encourages us.

Above all, we must learn what it means to worship God. We must give our worthy God our strength, our minds, our reputations. He must have control of our actions and decisions. We cannot find our own way or our own solutions anymore. Our iniquities were laid upon our Lord because we had gone astray to our own way. We have now returned to the Overseer and Shepherd of our soul.

If you are one of Christ’s sheep, you will hear His voice, which tells you to come to Him and never stop.
