“Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.” (Psalm 69:1,2)
Life is full of pain. We are grieved in so many ways by so many things. We don’t know what to do with our pain. So we react in ways that temporarily shift suffering away from us.
Without the help of Jesus, we simply don’t know how to successfully redeem the grievous events of our life. We become evil as we seek to combat evil. The less we learn of Christ the more we learn of sin. We rage against those who do wrong while we justify our own wrongdoing. Truly, we are lost and undone without the ministry of the Great Physician to our reeling minds and spirits. We tire of dealing with it all. We hate our life, those in it, and even ourselves.
Jesus invites all those who are weary and overburdened to come and learn of Him. He is meek and lowly of heart. He knows how to perfectly respond to every pain and grief of life. Only He can protect and preserve us from what we are capable of. None of us are good without Him. We are all in the same sad boat, and we all need a Savior, or we are going to sink.
