“But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself …” (Psalm 4:3)
God has not set you apart for a job. He has set you apart “for Himself.”
When you first got saved what was it about? There was a giddy excitement to just be with the Lord and in His arms, to have His company, to wake up each morning knowing He was there by your side. But that relationship was meant to deepen and mature, not stall and stagnate.
We can begin to lose focus on what the Lord was really after in calling us to Himself. We can get caught up in “doing,” and leave our first love. Be zealous and turn again to Him and do the “first works” of simply and richly lavishing your love on Him. Let all you do for Him be for love’s sake.
