“Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee … Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness …” (Ezekiel 28:15,17)
Lucifer apostatized. He once loved God. He once worshipped God. He was perfect in his ways until iniquity was found in him. What was the iniquity of Lucifer? Self-love. The bright and beautiful angel fell in love with himself. His infatuation with himself became greater than his love for God. His self-admiration caused him to seek God’s throne. But descent followed ascent. Is he finished falling? No, his fall continues and his ultimate doom is certain. His next stop will be the abyss.
When any creature becomes untethered from God their descent into evil knows no bounds. They are headed for the darkest abyss. They become capable of the unimaginable. Hell was not created for man, but for the devil and his angels. All who follow their lead must and will be contained with them forever.
The apostasy of this day follows the pattern of Lucifer’s falling away. The love of many toward God has waxed cold because the iniquity of self-love abounds. The rampant self-love in the world has permeated God’s camp. The popular religion now promoted is little more than “Me-ism.” Lucifer is still tempting the camp of God.
Don’t think for a moment that apostasy is impossible for you. The message of self-love is extraordinarily seductive. There is reason why multitudes are falling away from their first love. They are not leaving Him for another; they are leaving Him for themselves. Don’t end up in a narcissist’s hell.
