Carpe Diem

“For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart …” (Psalm 95:7,8)

Today is the day of salvation. Today, the Lord is not far from any of us. We are to seek the Lord while He may be found and call upon Him while He is near. What you did yesterday cannot be undone. We all to some measure must live with our past decisions. But the bigger issue with God is where you are today. His mercies are new every morning. Today, He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. If you shut Him out yesterday, let Him in today. If you hardened your heart to Him yesterday, soften your heart today. If you pulled away from Him yesterday, draw near to Him today.

Why go day after day in an existence without God and His involvement in your life? Days turn into years and before you know it, a life without God will become an eternity without Him. Nothing in this life is worth your eternal soul. We lose out on so much in this life when God is kept at arm’s length. How much more will we lose out on for eternity?

Make the most of today. Let your Maker fill your life with His presence. Let His goodness and mercy flow over you. Dare to believe He can make all things new in your life. What you do right now will have eternal consequences. Make sure you will not live in eternal regret. Through the way paved by His Son, begin the journey back to Father’s house. He waits with arms wide open today. Tomorrow may be too late.
