“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” (John 4:34)
Chasing our dream and pursuing God are not synonymous. More often than not, they are in conflict. To become fishers of men, the disciples needed to leave their nets. This is not an automatic. But one thing that should begin the life of every disciple is the trembling question: “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:6)
When God truly enters the soul He comes to establish His kingdom. It is now His will that is to be done. Our life does an about face. He is now in charge of giving us His vision for our life. He is at work in us to will and do of His good pleasure, not ours.
When all is said and done a life well lived will not be one that accomplished its goals. It will be one which did what mattered to God and finished the assignment He gave. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Chase what really matters.
