“But if any man love God, the same is known of him.” (1 Corinthians 8:3)
The man who loves God does not want to be hidden from God’s eyes. He loves and walks in the marvelous Light he has been called into. He welcomes God’s inspection and scrutiny over all his thoughts and actions. He delights in the total involvement of his dedicated Father. He has renounced the hidden things of dishonesty and appreciates the eyes of the Lord that are in every place. A good fear of God is before his eyes and he abhors what the world calls good, but his Lord calls evil. He has no evil fear that surrender to God will deprive him of “good” things and “sweet” pleasures. His conscience has been purged from dead works to now serve the living God and he daily exercises himself to have a conscience void of offense toward God and man. He quickly seeks restoration if he falls, but he makes no provision for the flesh. Without weariness, he accepts the chastening of His Father upon his every attitude and action. He cherishes the Potter’s hand and believes His Savior paid too high a price for him to continue fashioning himself after the former lusts he did while ignorant. He believes God’s good report and knows that God has everything he needs for a walk unto “all pleasing.” He seeks the Lord and His strength continually and pities a world that thinks life without God is a good thing. The total involvement of God in every corner of his life and every thought of his heart is incredible comfort and unspeakable joy. For him, to know God, and be known of Him, is life eternal.
