“And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified.” (Leviticus 10:1-3)
God’s moving can be mimicked, but it cannot be manufactured. We do not conjure up God. He is not available on demand. Even as there is but one Way to the Father; there is this unchanging stipulation: “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14)
God is in charge of who will stand before Him; who He will anoint; who He will promote; who He will draw near to; who He will use. We don’t access God the way we access electricity. He is not a light switch. He is not simply Power; He is a Person.
We are not taught by men how to “flow” in Him. We are taught of God or we are not taught at all. Much of what passes for revival, much of what we call the “manifest presence” of God, is drummed up. Many have naively settled for “strange fire.”
If we would have true revival we will deal with God truly. We will draw near enough to Him to hear what He has to say to us. We will not care how we look to men, we will only care what He thinks about us. We won’t need man to impart anything to us, God Himself will find us and come to us in a way like never before. We will be revived because we will have met God on God’s terms.
