“And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” (Mark 10:29,30)
Some people believe they will be “all alone” if they become a Christian. They don’t know who would be their new friends if they stopped being involved in the activities of their current friends.
Answering the call of Christ on one’s life can have its fears and uncertainties. Having loads of brothers and sisters and new friends to support you would be ideal. But even if it looks like you’ll be alone to begin with, it’s worth it.
Better to be God’s “only child” than to be part of the devil’s big family. And the fact of the matter is, though you may not see them now, God’s family is there for you. He will lead you to your brothers and sisters. He will more than make up for anything you have left behind for Him.
