Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Michael Beck

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him …” (Colossians 2:9,10)

To be all God would have us to be we need all that God would give us. That fullness is found in Christ. Being righteous, holy, godly, are all impossibilities outside of Christ. Man is undone without the help of God. Though he would pledge himself a thousand times over to be the person God wants him to be, he cannot accomplish the feat. Christ is all. We must be in Him and He must be in us if there is any hope for glory and virtue in our life.

The great transgression is the arrogant and foolish presumption that we can do what God wants us to do apart from the Vine who said: “Without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5). To run this race successfully, to be an overcomer in this life, we must keep our eyes always on the Author and the Finisher of our faith. Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, and everything in between. Don’t take your eyes off of Him.
