Poem

My Sheep Hear My Voice

Michael Beck Michael Beck

A hundred different versions, which one am I to read?
So many different doctrines, which ones should I believe?
Paul, Cephas and Apollos, which one has got it right?
Why is there all these choices, can’t things be black or white?

All say they teach the Bible, the truth that sets you free
But why so much confusion, why do they disagree?
Has God become divided, I thought that He was one
In such a noisy babel, one voice would help a ton

“Fear not, My child, just listen, if you are of the truth
You’ll hear My voice and follow, you’ll turn at My reproof
My Spirit will I pour out, My words to you make known
In those who truly fear Me, My light is always sown

My doctrine is not hidden, it’s there as plain as day
For those who want My leading, instead of their own way
Stay meek throughout your journey, and at each point I’ll guide
A stranger you won’t follow, if in Me you’ll abide

But if you want agreement in any path that’s wrong
You’ll find a voice to suit you, deception that is strong
For then I’ll turn you over, My path I’ll make you lose
I’ll lead into temptation; delusions I will choose.”

Fear not then many voices, fear God who sees your heart
Who will be sure to lead you, unless you get too smart
He’ll give you eyes to see Him; He’ll give you ears to hear
If you will just obey Him and hold His scripture dear
