“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” (Psalm 56:3)
Man, born of Adam, wants control. He finds it hard to give up any measure of control to anyone, including God. Only through the Spirit of Christ can we learn submission. Submission is a form of obedience in which we let another have the final say. We trust their judgment over ours.
We all have been failed enough by men to be wary of fully trusting them. But how often have we failed ourselves? Have we always taken the right turn? Shouldn’t we be just as skeptical of our own ability to run our own lives?
God alone is fully worthy of calling the shots in every one of our lives. Don’t be afraid to trust Him. Jesus did, and things have turned out great for Him.
