Unafraid to Ask

Michael Beck Michael Beck

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6,7)

God has many things that He is willing to do but we can be too timid to ask. We are afraid we might have to deal with the disappointment of being denied. So we don’t bother to ask and the word to us is: “You have not because you ask not.” Yes, it is possible He might say no because we are asking amiss, but it is also possible He might say yes because He loves to give good gifts to His children.

Ask. Don’t demand. Don’t command. Don’t think you have to already know His mind and declare it done in order to get results. Simply ask. Ask big, not small. Ask a lot, not a little. Just leave it all in the hands of a very good Father who does not know how to fail His children. He always does far more than we could ask or think, never far less.
