“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Many people find their purpose in life by latching on to an ideal. They dedicate themselves to justice or freedom or peace. But the Father’s one ideal for His people is His Son. He is the good that all things are worked together toward. His name is above every name.
Justice, freedom, and peace are not to be realized apart from Him. Every supposed good becomes corrupted and warped when championed by men. If we would worship and serve Christ every other good would be ours through Him. He must be pre-eminent in our lives. To know and reflect Him must be the chief reason of our existence.
