Good Zealotry

Michael Beck Michael Beck

“But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing …” (Galatians 4:18)

So many believers have lost their focus. They are caught up in the affairs of this world and consumed by the cares of this life. Their passions and emotions are misdirected. Their zeal without knowledge is not good. Their days are spent in vanity.

If we are to fulfill our destiny we must be after what God has called us to be after. He has set us apart for Himself – to know Him, to love Him, to partake of Him. His purpose for our lives must be our passion. His cause must be our cause. We must set our sights on things above where Christ sits at the right hand of God. Christ is our life.

Possessing Him must matter more to us than gaining every good thing that this life can afford. We must be zealous in a good thing, not in any lesser thing.

The distractions must end. Let us follow hard after God.
